Ray's whole working life adds up to about $2 million: forty years at $24 an hour. Baseball's biggest star gets paid exactly that by his team, every year. So Ray turned his life into a ruler and measured things athletes own in it: a rookie dinner, a jersey number that cost a Porsche, Tom Brady's watches, Michael Jordan's shoes, a Bugatti, three houses, a basketball team, and a 1932 Babe Ruth jersey that sold for 28 times what his team paid him.

Numbers in the episode are estimates built from these. If you spot a mistake, tell Ray: hello@brokeray.com.

Prices come from sale records, auction results and news reports; "reported" figures were not officially confirmed, and Forbes figures are estimates. The Ruth jersey was photo-matched by several authenticators; one firm disagreed. Ruth's figure is his Yankees salary (1920–1934), not everything he earned. One Ray is Ray's planned working life: $24 an hour, 40 years, about $2M before taxes.
